Twilight Stroll, Santa Teresa County Park, 6/14/23 by Ronald Horii
This event was on Wednesday, 6/14 at the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch in Santa Teresa County Park: "Take a walk in the late-afternoon light to explore Oak Woodlands and learn about the value of this ecosystem for the animals and people of Santa Clara Valley." It was led by Park Interpreter Katrina Semene. The participants gathered by West Barn. Kristina talked about observing nature and passed around a coyote pelt. The group then walked to Santa Teresa Spring and saw a family of deer along the way. At the spring, the group looked at the plants and animals and heard about the spring's history. They then walked along the new trail to the Bear Tree Lot. Katrina talked about the history of the Bear Tree and the bull and bear fights that were held in the early days of the ranch. She led the group through an exercise in noticing and appreciating the plants and animals in the area. Here are more pictures of Santa Teresa Park and events: http://www.stpfriends.org/#newpictures
