Almaden Quicksilver North Side Wildflowers & Views, 4/11/23 by Ronald Horii
The best wildflowers in Almaden Quicksilver County Park are along the flat section of the Senador Mine Trail. It's the easiest and most accessible walking trail in the park. It's also one of the most popular trails among all the County Parks. The entry road is actually on an easement through private property. The park begins at the junction of the Senador Mine Trail and the Mine Hill Trail. Bikes are not allowed at this entrance. A popular loop hike is the Senador Mine Trail to the Guadalupe Trail and back on the Mine Hill Trail. It's 2.2 miles. The New Almaden Trail cuts through the middle of the loop and is an alternate route. The best wildflowers begin near the junction of the New Almaden Trail and Senador Mine Trail. Here are pictures of my hike and what I saw. The scientific names of the plants are in parentheses, if I know the species.
