Sycamore Forest Update, Santa Teresa Park's Pueblo Area, 4/7/23 by Ronald Horii
There is a line of about 100 native western sycamore trees that were planted last year in the Pueblo Area of Santa Teresa County Park:
"New Sycamore Forest, Santa Teresa Park, 11/26/22": https://tinyurl.com/55tmpyuv. Since then, there has been above average rainfall and storms with high winds. I was wondering how those trees have withstood the fierce winter weather that has knocked down countless numbers of trees all over the state. On 4/7/23, I went to the Pueblo Area to check out the trees. Here are pictures of them. In general, they look OK. Some look like they've been bent or pushed by the wind. One looks like part of it broke off. They all lost their leaves during the winter, being deciduous. Most are leafing out again. That's a good sign.
