Regnart Creek Trail, Cupertino, 3/24/23 by Ronald Horii
I heard about the new Regnart Creek Trail in Cupertino. There was an opening ceremony for it a few days ago on March 18: https://walkbikecupertino.org/2023/02/the-regnart-creek-trail-opens-march-18/. Here's a news story about it: https://www.mercurynews.com/2023/02/26/regnart-creek-trail-opening-helps-close-cupertinos-loop/. It's not very long at 0.8 miles, but it provides important neighborhood connections.
It starts at the Cupertino Library, follows Regnart Creek, passes Wilson Park, where there's a bridge to access the park, and ends at Creekside Park.
Here's information about the trail construction: https://walkbikecupertino.org/projects-and-funding/regnart-creek-trail-project/. This was the feasibility study for it: https://www.cupertino.org/our-city/departments/public-works/transportation-mobility/bicycle-and-pedestrian-travel/bicycle-transportation-plan-implementation/regnart-creek-trail-feasibility-study. The Regnart Creek Trail provides an example of what it takes to build a neighborhood trail. It was not easy, but it's now done, and lots of people are using it. I rode my bike on the trail and took these pictures, mostly on the move:
