Stevens Creek, High Water & Trail Closures in Cupertino, 3/24/23 by Ronald Horii
With all the rain we've add, and with Stevens Creek Reservoir close to spilling, I was curious to see what Stevens Creek looked like. I was in Cupertino, so I went to see the Stevens Creek Trail in Blackberry Farm Park and McClellan Ranch Preserve. The last time I was there was in October of last year. Parts of the creek were dry. Other parts of the creek had isolated pools. See:
"Stevens Creek Trail: Varian Park to Linda Vista Park, 10/9/22:"
https://tinyurl.com/ye28ty22. This shows how the creek and trail looked in October of last year. It also has information and links about the trail and the parks. The creek is definitely not dry now. Parts of the parks are closed due to the potential for flooding. That can occur if Stevens Creek Reservoir spills and water pours out of it uncontrolled. The wet weather and wind has caused treefalls, which have also closed trails. This shows the creek and trail closures:
