Wildflower Hike, Rancho Canada del Oro/Calero, 3/11/23 by Ronald Horii
On 3/11/23, there was a wildflower hike at the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority's Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve. The last part of the hike went through Calero County Park. The hike was led by OSA docent Paul Billig, with help from docents Kathy, Mike, Youngmee, Vicki, and me. The route for the hike followed the Mayfair Ranch and Longwall Canyon Trails at the Casa Loma entrance to the preserve. Last month, we hiked the same route. We saw early season wildflowers: "Rancho Canada del Oro Wildflower Hike, 2/11/23": https://tinyurl.com/y9ymbevs. It's now later in the wildflower season, so more flowers are blooming. This is what we saw. There has been a lot of rain this season, so the creeks are running high. There are small creeks flowing in places that are usually dry. I made this separate album about the water: "Water at Calero, Rancho Canada del Oro, 3/11/23": https://tinyurl.com/mt95s7ne.

These are my pictures of Calero County Park: http://www.rhorii.com/#Calero-RanchoSanVicente. Here's Calero information and a map: https://parks.sccgov.org/santa-clara-county-parks/calero-county-park. There will be another wildflower hike here on April 15.
