The Pueblo Area in Santa Teresa Park After the Storms, 1/6/23 by Ronald Horii
After the series of recent rain and wind storms, I wondered what the impact the storms had on Santa Teresa County Park. Yesterday, I checked out some of the entrances to the park:
Santa Teresa Park Runoff After the Rains, 1/5/23: https://tinyurl.com/y4yacfhj. There was a lot of water flowing in the culvert next to Bernal Road near the park entrance. Usually this means the waterfalls in Laurel Canyon are flowing strongly.
In December, I went to check out the Pueblo Area in the middle of the park during and after the rains then. The upper waterfall was flowing, but not very much:

There's been more rain since then. I wanted to see the trails were holding up to the rain and how much water was going over the waterfall. Another thing I was looking for was how the new sycamore forest was doing. It was planted in November, from over 100 trees that were saved from being chipped: New Sycamore Forest, Santa Teresa Park, 11/26/22: https://tinyurl.com/55tmpyuv. Sycamores need lots of water, so they were planted next to a seasonal creek. Here are pictures from today:
