WHO response to earthquake and tsunami in Solomon Islands by World Health Organization (WHO)
How did WHO work with the Ministry of Health of Solomon Islands to develop an early-early-warning surveillance system to identify worrying diseases? See the photo story: http://www.who.int/features/2013/solomon_tsunami/en/index.html

Life in the Marshall, Solomon, and other islands in the South Pacific is very challenging, not only for the residents, but volunteers as well. It's hot, dirty, and dangerous. Better to donate funds to a charity in the region - than spend 5K for transportation, etc.- and increase the load on what little resources are available to islanders. I commend WHO on their fine efforts.
