OSA's Geology Hike at Alum Rock Park, 8/27/22 by Ronald Horii
On 8/27/22, there was a geology hike at San Jose's Alum Rock Park, led by Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority Educational Program Coordinator Michelle Garcia. She led a nature hike in the park on 7/16/22, called the "Creek Peek," which looked at plants and animals in Upper Penitencia Creek: : https://tinyurl.com/3vsu3w8f. Today's hike followed almost the same route, but it focused on the geology of the park. This was the description: "Alum Rock Park is rich in fascinating geology! Join Open Space Authority staff for a fun and family-friendly walk along the Penitencia Creek Trail in upper Penitencia Creek to learn the secrets behind the geological happenings that take place here." Here are more of my pictures of Alum Rock Park and Penitencia Creek: http://www.rhorii.com/#AlumRock.
