When my good friend Martin Astles (Head Sculptor at Illusion Industries) told me that Michael Bay wanted to do a TMNT movie, I started doing these concepts to help Illusion get the project. We did get a chance to meet with the producers and the meeting went well but we did not get the gig. So in a way these images you see have just become fan art coz I did not get paid for it , I just wanted to work on it so bad :) . This was back in 2011...

Some of my friends have brought to my attention that these designs are making rounds around the internet and there are some inaccurate info being tossed about. Before I get in trouble I gotta say that these designs are just "some" of the initial rough ideas. I have some that looked more like the original turtles. These are just the ones I liked and decided to share. And to clarify We had no direction from Michael Bay. I just wanted to help the studio get it so I can work on it . I did it on my own time. Also if you look at the sketches, I did have some with traditional weapons.. these sites are insisting that the only versions were gonna have guns... people have to understand that it's a process and they are just getting a glimps at a piece of a long line of ideas

I like the concept art for Splinter way better then what they did with him in the movie. He just looks terrible in the movie. Too bad.

Well they are not really fan art... as I was explaining in the description on the folder that I did this to get the project for the FX house I was workin in ..and we got the meetings with the producers of the show but in the end we did not get the gig.. sooo now since we officially did not work on the new movie that came out, I was joking that the work I did has been relegated to fan art... but believe me I wanted to post these a while back but was not sure if I would get in trouble coz the people we met with did ask for some copies. I hope I explained that well enough
