Grant Lake Birds, Joseph D. Grant County Park, 6/18/22 by Ronald Horii
On 6/18/22, I went to Joseph D. Grant County Park to see the reopening of the historic Grant house. I got there early, so I took a short walk to see Grant Lake. I was surprised to see it was full of water. So many other lakes and reservoirs in the county are low. The park is huge, covering 10,882 acres, the largest of all the Santa Clara County Parks. It has several small ponds. Grant Lake is by far the largest body of water in the park. It has fish and is a popular place to go fishing. It contains warmwater fish, like bass, bluegill, and carp. I was hoping to see people fishing and if they were catching any fish. I didn't see any fishermen. Instead, I saw lots of birds. I'm not a birder, so I don't know all of them, but some are familiar.

After visiting Grant Lake, I went to the re-opening ceremony: https://tinyurl.com/2bxwwtpz.
Then I toured the main ranch house: https://tinyurl.com/35tkf76j.
