Martial Cottle Hedgerow, 6/9/22 by Ronald Horii
The Friends of Martial Cottle Park (FOMCP), in partnership with the Santa Clara County Parks, planted a hedgerow in Martial Cottle Park. It's 921 feet long by 20 feet wide, planted between the trail and the farm fields along Chynoweth Avenue. It's planted entirely with native plant species. Planting started in 2020. Since then, there have been work days to add more plants and replace the ones that have died. There have also been many weeding days. Most recently, there was a work day to add more wood chip mulch. I rode my bike by here on 6/9/22. The pictures below show what the hedgerow looked like then.
