Earth Day Cleanup at the Bernal Ranch, 4/24/22 by Ronald Horii
On Sunday 4/24/22, there was an Earth Day cleanup at the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch in Santa Teresa Park. (Earth Day was on Friday.) 3 members of the Friends of Santa Teresa Park (Mike Boulland, Joan Murphy, and me) joined other volunteers to help clean up the area around the historic ranch house. The event was organized by Park Maintenance worker Jason Bombardier, who is assigned to work on the ranch. Here are before-and-after pictures of the cleanup. The Friends of Santa Teresa Park have been having regular cleanup days in the park, usually the first Friday of the month. We didn't do it on April 1 because of schedule conflicts, and because this event was being held later in the month. Our next cleanup day will be on Friday May 6, unless something changes.
