Coyote Creek Dried Up, 3/27/22 by Ronald Horii
On 3/27/22, I went for a short bike ride on the Coyote Creek Trail from Metcalf Park to the creek crossing north of Bailey Ave. It was only a few weeks after I last saw Coyote Creek in this area (3/8/22): https://tinyurl.com/umprcfrt. At that time, the creek was still flowing into the Coyote Percolation Pond, also called Coyote Creek Lake, but the water soaked into the ground and didn't come out of it. That was a huge change from December 2021, when there was so much water flowing down Coyote Creek that the trail was flooded in several places (https://tinyurl.com/mr22vsct). By the end of January (1/24/22), after a dry month, the flood waters had receded, but the creek was still flowing (https://tinyurl.com/467ht5n4). Now, take a look at it.
