Los Gatos Creek Park Ponds and Maintenance, 3/22/22 by Ronald Horii
I went to Los Gatos Creek Park in Campbell on 3/22/22. There was a huge fire in an industrial building next to the trail on 3/18/22. It closed part of the Los Gatos Creek Trail for several days. Here are the pictures of the aftermath of the fire: https://tinyurl.com/bdz4cpmm
While I was out there, I took pictures of the percolation ponds. Some are dry, some are low, but some are almost full. Los Gatos Creek itself is barely flowing. Los Gatos Creek Park is made up of a network of percolation ponds. The ponds west of Los Gatos Creek are the largest. They are called the Camden Ponds and are numbered 1-3, starting from the north. The ponds east of the creek are the Oka Ponds. There are 2 large ponds and 2 small ponds, numbered 4-7. There have been construction activities in the park. Some park paths have been repaved. The bridge over Los Gatos Creek leading to the Oka Ponds will be renovated starting April 19, and will be closed for 2-3 weeks. I show alternate ways to get to the east side of the park.

The water system here is complicated. In this album, I try to explain it by following the water: https://tinyurl.com/2s7ejk8c
