Transportation of foundation blocks of the ice-resistant platform van LUKOIL
LUKOIL starts to transport two foundation blocks of the ice-resistant platform LSP-1 to the site of its installation at the Vladimir Filanovsky oil field in the Caspian Sea. The total weight of these two foundation blocks is about 5000 tons. They will be attached to the seabed by 20 piles each of over 2 meters in diameter and the total weight of more than 4000 tons. The piles will be driven up to 60 meters into the seabed providing reliable fixation of the platform even under possible extreme impact of ice and waves. The foundation blocks will be installed on the seven meters’ depth.
