It was time to replace my well-worn, overused and abused compact camera, a Canon A720IS. I did a lot of research and finally settled on a Canon SX260HS. I got it for $200 at Fry's. It has 12 MP, a 20X zoom lens, and built-in GPS. I thought I'd check out the zoom. Here are some pictures taken today at Almaden Quicksilver and Santa Teresa, under different lighting conditions.
