Viva Calle SJ, 11/7/21 by Ronald Horii
On 11/7/21, there was a Viva Calle SJ event in San Jose, starting at Kelley Park. It's where a street route is closed to car traffic, so people can walk, run, bike, or skate on the streets. (https://www.vivacallesj.org/the-event/featured-event)
It ran from 10 am to 3 pm. That morning, there was a ribbon-cutting for the new 1.7-mile addition to the Coyote Creek Trail on the other side of Kelley Park: https://tinyurl.com/ykpu4c
I went to that celebration, toured the Remillard House, and explored the new trail, which took up my morning. I had an event to go to in the afternoon, so I didn't have time to see the whole Viva Calle SJ route. I biked part of it, from Kelley Park to San Carlos St. downtown. There were activity hubs at Kelley Park and Parque De Los Pobladores. Here are pictures I took.
