Master Gardeners Open House at Explore Martial Cottle 10/2/21 by Ronald Horii
On 10/2/21, I went to this:
Explore Martial Cottle Park Event, 10/2/21
https://tinyurl.com/y6ct7ub2
It was scaled-down version of the normally huge Fall Festival. The UC Master Gardeners' (https://mgsantaclara.ucanr.edu/) parcel was open for visitors, so I went in to check it out. Because of the pandemic, there were no large events in the park in 2020 and no spring festival in 2021. The Master Gardeners were unable to even work in their gardens at the start of the pandemic, due to shutdown restrictions. Later, they were able to access their parcel, but with restrictions and no public access. Lately, they have been able to do more and hold small public events. At previous spring and fall festivals, they had plant sales, which attracted huge crowds. This was at the last Fall Festival in 2019: https://tinyurl.com/y6som7we
This year's event was much smaller. They did not have a big plant sale, but were selling succulents, which they sell once a month now. Today, they had garden tours, crafts for kids, and lectures. Here are more of my pictures at Martial Cottle Park: http://www.rhorii.com/#MartialCottle
