Explore Martial Cottle Park Event, 10/2/21 by Ronald Horii
The Fall Festival (previously called the Harvest Festival) has been the largest event at Martial Cottle Park. Starting in 2020, the pandemic stopped all large events in all the County Parks, including Martial Cottle. Also, many park personnel were temporarily re-assigned to disaster service work, such as helping out at vaccination centers. The visitor centers were closed, volunteer activities were suspended, school tours were stopped, and there were no in-person interpretive events. This year, the parks have slowly started to return to normal as restrictions have been lifted and more park personnel have been released from pandemic duty. There have been some small events at Martial Cottle, but on 10/2/21, the "Explore Martial Cottle Park" event was held. It was a smaller version of the Fall Festival to prevent crowding. There were less exhibitors and activities, but there was still a lot to see. It was not as busy as past events, but there was still a good turnout. Here are some highlights. I took lots of pictures at the Master Gardeners' parcel and put them in a separate album: https://tinyurl.com/yf46748r
This was the last Fall Festival at Martial Cottle, on 10/5/19 (split into 5 albums): https://www.facebook.com/ronald.horii/media_set?set=a.2622361324454040&type=3
