Kingsnake Program, Santa Teresa County Park, 9/14/21 by Ronald Horii
This event was held at the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch in Santa Teresa County Park on 9/14/21:
"An Evening With a King
Morticia is making a comeback! On the 26th, you can come hang out with a king snake. This program offers you and your friends and family the chance to meet Morticia, Santa Clara County Parks’ California king snake, and learn why she is so well adapted to the habitats that surround the Santa Clara Valley and beyond!"
The event was put on by Park Interpreter Rob McDonnell. He is at the ranch on Fridays and Saturdays to give tours and answer questions. The ranch house and west barn are open for visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sundays from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Rob talked about kingsnakes, their physical characteristics, life cycle, diet, how they move, how they hunt and eat prey, coloration, skin, and relation to their environment. He answered lots of questions.
