Bugged-Out Movie Night at the BGJ Ranch, 10/27/07 by Friends Of Santa Teresa Park
There was a special event held at the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch in Santa Teresa County Park on 10/27/07. This was the notice: "Bugged-Out Movie Night – Spiders. Santa Teresa County Park’s Historic Bernal Ranch 7:30-10:30pm. Explore the fascinating life of spiders in our world. Hang on to your seats while watching the 1950s thriller “Tarantula”, followed by some safe close encounters with the real-life creatures!"

It was organized by Park Interpreter John Dorrance. He had exhibitors show live tarantulas inside the ranch house. In the barn, there was a talk about tarantulas. There was a demonstration by a man who put a live tarantula in his mouth. He had done that on the David Letterman show. Afterwards, there was a showing of the classic monster movie "Tarantula."
