Sanborn: Saratoga to the Skyline Trail Connection, 6/1/21 by Ronald Horii
The newly-completed Saratoga to the Skyline Trail runs from Saratoga Quarry Park through Sanborn County Park to Skyline Blvd. From there, it's an easy connection to the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail.

On 6/1/21, I went to see the new trail in Sanborn County Park that connects to the trail in Quarry Park. I started at a pullout on Sanborn Road. I took connector trails to reach the new Stuart Ridge Trail. I climbed up the hill on the trail to where it intersects an existing service road to an historic winery. The road is lightly used, so it's safe to use it as a trail. It leads to the new trail to Quarry Park. On the other side of Sanborn Road, the Welch-Hurst Trail leads to a network of trails that climb uphill to reach the Skyline Trail along Skyline Blvd. The Skyline Trail leads to Castle Rock State Park and the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail. This means there is a continuous trail network from Saratoga to the sea. Sanborn County Park is huge. It covers 3453 acres, with 22 miles of trails. It has RV and hike-in campgrounds.
