The Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark (SCCMAS) is on the Coyote Creek Trail in Morgan Hill, near Anderson Reservoir. The floods of 2017 on Coyote Creek wiped out the road leading to the skypark, and it's too expensive and complicated (environmentally) to replace it. In the meantime, model aircraft enthusiasts were still able to use the field, but they had to tow their planes and equipment on foot or by bike on trailers for 2.5 miles along the Coyote Creek Trail. Then last year, the pandemic closed the field altogether for several months. They eventually were able to access the field again, but still by foot or bike. Fortunately, the County Parks started building a new access road to the field starting by the Coyote Creek Golf Course and which doesn't require crossing Coyote Creek. On 6/19/21, the new road to the airfield opened. Only SCCMAS members can use it and only on weekends, at least for now.

I went biking on the Coyote Creek Trail on 6/20/21. I saw cars parked at the skypark for the first time (other than park service vehicles) in over a year. There were planes flying. Here's what I saw.
