I got a rare opportunity to visit Mt. Umunhum on Saturday along with veterans of the Almaden Air Force Station. Thanks to Basim Jaber, who organized the event, and Mike Boulland, who invited me to come along. The views were awesome, even though fog and clouds obscured part of the view. MROSD showed plans for restoring the site and opening it to the public in the future.

I just came back from a public meeting about Mt. Umunhum. http://www.openspace.org/plans_projects/mt_umunhum.asp They were taking public comments on the Draft EIR. There were lots of interesting and varied opinions. If you have comments, you can send an e-mail to mt.um@openspace.org
