High Water Around Almaden Lake, 2/14/19 by Ronald Horii
An atmospheric river dumped heavy rain in the Bay Area, causing flooding and landslides. It prompted an evacuation in the neighborhood around the Guadalupe River in Willow Glen. Fortunately, the Guadalupe River did not flood, but it ran high and fast. After the rains stopped, I went to see how the river and its feeder creeks looked in the Almaden Valley. I went to the start of the Guadalupe River below Almaden Lake, walked up the west shore of the lake to Los Alamitos Creek. I went up the Los Alamitos Creek Trail past the Mazzone Drive Bridge. I went partway up the trail, then returned on the east shore of Almaden Lake. I went down the Guadalupe River Trail to Blossom Hill Road. All the creeks were running high. The Mazzone Drive and Blossom Hill Road underpasses were flooded.

We had rain the past few weeks, but the recent rains were particularly heavy. Here's what the area looked like just a few days ago:

Hi. I work at the Santa Clara Valley Water District and it would be great to use some of these photos in our outreach materials. Would you be willing to grant us permission to use these photos please?
