New Almaden Day Parade Preparations, 9/8/18 by Ronald Horii
On 9/8/18, the annual New Almaden Parade was held, but this year's route was different. Normally, it goes north on Bertram Road, crosses over Los Alamitos Creek on the bridge, then returns south on Almaden Road. This year, the bridge was closed for reconstruction, so the parade could not go down Bertram Road. Instead, here are the last-minute directions:
"The parade will start from the dirt overflow parking lot at the Hacienda Entrance to Quicksilver Park. The parade will exit the Hacienda lot and make a RIGHT onto Alamitos Rd., LEFT onto Bertram Rd. (at St. Anthony's), LEFT onto Almaden Wy. (in front of La Foret and across the small cement bridge), RIGHT onto Almaden Rd., RIGHT into the dirt overflow parking lot at the Casa Grande, loop LEFT out the opposite gate of the overflow parking lot at the Casa Grande and LEFT back onto Almaden Rd. back to the start."

These pictures below are from the parade staging in the overflow parking lot at the Hacienda entrance to Almaden Quicksilver. The parade began, led by the firetrucks, as they left the Hacienda Entrance parking lot.

The next sections will show the parade going north on Almaden Road, then returning south. After the parade, there was a carnival at the New Almaden Community Club. Here are pictures:
