Ranger-Led Hike to Coyote Peak, 8/4/18 by Ronald Horii
There was a series of ranger-led hikes in Santa Teresa County Park this summer:
What's "Shaking" in Parks? (8/4/2018 @ 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM). Trek to the highest peak in the park to view fantastic vistas and explore local geology formations. Meet in the 2nd parking lot with hiking shoes, layered clothing, and water.

I missed the earlier hikes, but I managed to catch this hike on 8/4/18. I posted a notice on NextDoor to spread the word. 8 people showed up. Some of them had seen the notice on NextDoor. The hike was led by Ranger Bryan Lue. Bryan studied geology in college. We started in the Pueblo Day Use Area and hiked up the Hidden Springs Trail to the Coyote Peak Trail and Coyote Peak. From Coyote Peak, we had 360 degree panoramas. Bryan talked about the major earthquake faults and how they shaped the Bay Area. He gave a demo of how the faults work.

There was one more hike in this series on 8/18/18, but it didn't go quite as planned: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1967414299948749&type=1&l=db2ae753bd
