Hellyer Amazing Race, 6/16/18 by Ronald Horii
On 6/16/18, the second annual Hellyer Amazing Race was held at Hellyer County Park. This was the description: "Anyone can participate in this fun outdoor challenge! Register with your team to compete for great prizes by completing fun challenges, games, and learning outdoor skills along the way!" There was a series of 8 challenge stations. There was supposed to be 9, but the campfire challenge was cancelled due to winds. At least it wasn't hot. About 250 people showed up, compared to about 150 last year. Each challenge was timed by volunteers. Contestants could do the challenges in any order and weren't timed for travelling between the stations.
