Point Lobos Tour: South Shore Trail Area, 5/7/18 by Ronald Horii
This is a continuation of the Point Lobos Tour, which started on the north side: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1806502982706549.1073742390.100000405933924&type=1&l=9b837daaf1
It starts at the Sea Lion Point Trail and ends a little south of Weston Beach on the South Shore Trail. It's very different from the north. Instead of steep granite cliffs, with inaccessible pocket beaches, this section has lower, flatter sedimentary and conglomerate rocks that formed under the ocean. It has many small beaches and tidepools that are easily reached, except for areas that are fenced off for habitat protection. The tidepools are teeming with life, but collection is prohibited.
