Rancho San Vicente Hike, 4/11/18 by Ronald Horii
On 4/11/18, I helped to lead a hike in the Rancho San Vicente addition to Calero County Park. We took the Lisa Killough Trail to Lisa's Lookout, and returned the same way. Rancho San Vicente is notable for its wildflowers. That's because over half of its 966 acres is covered with serpentine soil, which promotes the growth of native wildflowers. This was the middle of the wildflower season, or a little past the peak, depending on the species. Poppies, creamcups, buttercups, seepspring monkeyflowers, and goldfields were in full bloom.
