Almaden Quicksilver Blazing Star Canyon, 4/11/18 by Ronald Horii
There's an interesting spot that's technically in Almaden Quicksilver County Park, but it's not on the map, and no trails lead to it. However, it is very easy to get to. It's at a pullout on Hicks Road, just a short distance up from Alamitos Road. There's a little canyon here surrounded by low, steep sides. It has a unique collection of wildflowers. It is the only place in the park (that I've seen) that has Lindley's blazing stars. It's a big, bright, showy flower. http://calscape.org/Mentzelia-lindleyi-(Lindley's-Blazing-Star)?srchcr=sc57021b80b57df
(The blazing star is the name of the newsletter for Santa Clara County branch of the California Native Plant Society: http://www.cnps-scv.org/images/BlazingStar/current-newsletter.pdf)

Later in the here, you can see colorful red-orange canyon dudleya growing on the rocks: http://calscape.org/Dudleya-cymosa-(Canyon-Dudleya)?srchcr=sc5acfacf62941c
It also has poppies and Chinese houses, among other flowers. Butterflies like this canyon. I've heard it called "Arroyo de la Mariposa."
