#PixInParks Hike, Santa Teresa Park, 3/25/18 by Ronald Horii
On 3/25/18, members of the Friends of Santa Teresa Park (FOSTP) led a hike at Santa Teresa County Park. It was called “Hike the Magnificent Seven! Santa Teresa.” It's a new challenge in the County Parks. The challenge is to hike one of 7 selected trail routes and take a selfie or group picture at the designated spot in the park. Today's hike followed the Fortini, Mine, and Stile Ranch Trails, which is one of the #PixInParks Challenge routes. This is about the Magnificent 7 #PixInParks Challenge:

Since this is wildflower season, and the Stile Ranch and Fortini trails are great wildflower trails, we talked about the flowers and plants we encountered along the way. Though we saw lots of wildflowers, they are not at their peak yet. Some will come out later in the spring and into early summer.
The park is rich in history. This part of the park includes lands that belonged to the Bernal, Berryessa, and Fortini families. It was part of the Bernal's Rancho Santa Teresa and the Berryessa's Rancho San Vicente. Some of the volunteers portrayed historic characters and told about their life history. We did this on a hike here in 2008: http://www.stpfriends.org/Fortini-Stile-Walk_05-04-08/Fortini-Stile-Walk.html
