Martial Cottle Park Sunset, 2/9/18 by Ronald Horii
Martial Cottle Park is a great place for watching sunsets. Even though it's in the middle of the city, it covers almost 300 acres, most of which is wide open farm fields. The surrounding hills are far away, so it has mostly unobstructed 360-degree views of the sky. Here are pictures of the sunset from the park. When I saw the pattern of clouds in the sky in the afternoon, I knew there was a chance for a nice sunset, so I headed to the park. Note how the clouds change color. It's the clouds that make the difference between a mediocre sunset and a spectacular one. You never know what you're going to get, so it's always a roll of the dice. I think I got lucky.

Technical information: Olympus OMD E-M10 camera, 14-42 mm lens, monopod, HDR with multiple shots (up to 5), combined in Photomatix 6.
