Agricultural Drainage Restoration Planting от King Conservation District
King Conservation District and King County, Washington Government are assisting farmers impacted by seasonal flooding with a series of agricultural drainage projects. Last September KCD implemented a major project at Goose and Gander Farm in the Snoqualmie Valley, excavating an estimated 410 cubic yards of accumulated silt that clogged more than 1,400 linear feet of drainage channels.

The next phase is planting a native buffer along the channel to reduce erosion and provide shade, which will cool the water to enhance fish habitat. King County's Agricultural Drainage Assistance Program is responsible for the buffer planting and maintenance. Below are photos of the project being implemented by King County's Washington Conservation Corps crew.
