Vasona Fall Pictures/Smartphone Camera Test 11/14/17 by Ronald Horii
I took my new smartphone, a Moto E4, to Vasona County Park to test out its camera. It's a budget phone, so it doesn't have a really good camera, but it's a new design, so it's much better than my old iPhone 4. I walked around Vasona and Oak Meadow Park, shooting different scenes and in different lighting. This is a good time of year to shoot fall colors. Vasona has the best fall tree colors in the County Parks, mainly because it has so many colorful landscape trees. Most of these aren't native. Here are previous pictures of Vasona fall colors, with the trees identified: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.299417536748442.70827.100000405933924&type=1&l=d947c79343

I used the HDR capability in some cases. All of these pictures are as-is, unedited, except for size reduction to avoid Facebook's automatic resizing. Conclusion: with adequate lighting, the E4's smartphone camera does a good job, as long as I don't need to zoom in. (The digital zoom is terrible.) Here's a side-by-side camera comparison I did at Martial Cottle Park: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1612700908753425.1073742281.100000405933924&type=1&l=9499a63d77
