Stevens Creek Trail Bypass, 6/16/17 by Ronald Horii
Part of the Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View between El Camino Real and Yuba Drive was damaged by erosion last winter. A large part of the cliff supporting the trail was washed out. The trail itself was mostly intact, but the safety railing collapsed into the creek. This prompted the trail to be closed. The detour was along Yuba Drive, which is not very scenic. On June 8, a bypass trail was opened up, which goes through the adjacent hotel property. On 6/16/17, I walked the trail from El Camino Real to Yuba Drive and back. Here are pictures.
