Hike on the Joice & Bernal Hill Trails, Santa Teresa Park, 4/5/17 by Ronald Horii
I went for a hike on the Joice and Bernal Hill Trails at Santa Teresa Park on 4/5/17. There were wildflowers out, but they were not all at their peak. Some were, some weren't. In general, this was not a great wildflower year in the Bay Area, unlike Southern California. The reason appears to be that the rain patterns this season favored grasses over wildflowers. There was a luxuriant growth of non-native grasses, which crowded out the wildflowers.
