Lichen Hike at Almaden Quicksilver, 1/28/17 by Ronald Horii
Here are pictures from today's hike at Almaden Quicksilver County Park. It was led by Cait Hutnik, accompanied by fellow docents Woody Collins and Joan Murphy. It was called "Lichen: A Closer Look." Here's the description:
"This easy 1.5-mile out-and-back nature walk will explore habitats where lichen communities thrive. Learn to identify some of the most common forest lichen and discover ways these fascinating organisms benefit both wildlife and the environment. Meet at the Wood Road parking lot.
