Anderson Lake, Rosendin Park, Coyote Creek, 1/14/17 by Ronald Horii
We had a lot of rain recently. I wanted to see how it's affected Anderson Lake County Park. Anderson Reservoir is the largest of the Santa Clara Valley Water District's reservoirs. However, because of seismic concerns, the water level has to be kept below a certain level. Water entering the reservoir has to be released to keep the water level low, so a huge amount is being released into Coyote Creek, causing higher creek levels downstream. I drove up to the top of Anderson Dam and hiked into the Rosendin Park Area. I then went to the base of the dam and saw the water being released into Coyote Creek. I followed Coyote Creek farther downstream past the visitor center.
