Del Amo Fashion Center, Torrance, 12/31/16 by Ronald Horii
I've been going to the Del Amo Mall in Torrance since I was a kid. There have been stores there since 1959. It has a long history. It has evolved and been remodeled and enlarged over the years. It started as an open air mall. When I was a teenager, it became an indoor mall. I spent a lot of time there during my high school years. For over a decade, it was the largest shopping mall in the US. In 2006, an open-air section opened. The northern end of the mall was renovated and re-opened in 2015. The southern section is undergoing renovations. My family and I paid a visit to the mall on New Years Eve. Much of it looked totally different from what I remember. Here are some pictures.
