Alien Con, Santa Clara Convention Center 10/30/16 by Ronald Horii
I went to the first Alien Con convention at the Santa Clara Convention Center. It was inspired by the History Channel's show Ancient Aliens. It was a celebration of science fact (and speculation), science fiction, fantasy, monsters, and aliens. There were interview panels featuring sci-fi stars, which is what I was primarily interested in. The biggest crowds were in the ancient aliens panels, but I didn't go to those. My son was there also, helping with a couple of Star Wars-inspired groups. There were lots of vendors, selling books, games, comics, collectibles, art, etc. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures, taken with my little compact camera without a flash or tripod.

Ron I saw the ad/commercial on that channel for this and was interested but when I went to look online the tickets were so expensive I didn't look any further - sounds like a good event if one is interested in this stuff- I watch that show a lot!

Tickets were $29 just for entry, but the special events, like the concert and luncheon were more.

Just curious:
1. How much were selfies or autographs with celebrities?
2. Did the Lemurians let Von Danniken come this year?

You had to pay extras for autographs and pictures, but I'm not into that, so I didn't pay attention to the cost. I didn't go to see the alien theorists, but the guy with the big hair, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, was there: https://www.thealiencon.com/giorgio-a-tsoukalos/
He is the director of Erich von Daniken’s Ancient Alien Society. The line to hear the panel on ancient aliens was huge, but I just attended the sci-fi show panels. They were well-attended, but not overflowing.

Wait for a solstice with a full moon and good weather at Mount Shasta city. Same but no celebrities.

Looking at the photos it is different than what I expected- I watch a lot of the ancient aliens /Peru/etc but this has Star Wars and Star Trek - kinda more of a broader view of the space stuff

It was a combination of alien theorists and sci-fi. Since I'm more interested in sci-fi, that's what I took pictures of. There were lots of alien presentations and panels, but they overlapped with the sci-fi stuff, so I didn't go to them.
