Biking from Geneva to Paris for Climate by World Health Organization (WHO)
Biking from Geneva to Paris: WHO’s team leader of the climate change and health team, Diarmid Campbell-Lendrum, biked from Geneva to Paris (approx. 585km) to attend the Second Global Conference on Health and Climate on 7-8 July 2016.
“Everything is within cycling distance, if you have the time,” said Diarmid.
“WHO has been saying for several years that cycling and walking to work is good for health, and good for the planet. Cycling to the conference is my way of backing that up.”
We followed his journey from Geneva through the vineyards of Burgundy in France, all the way to his final destination in Paris.

Related “the Second Global Conference on Health and Climate on 7-8 July 2016 in Paris”. As health advocacy I have suggestion. However, there are some institutions to have responsibility how to minimize pollutants such as environmental department, forestry department, agriculture department, health department and justice department. I think it is less effective when the program is implemented only inventoried individually and handled individually, but there should be cooperation in collaborate of several institutions involved as pioneers and other agencies as a follower with an inventory of all sources of pollutants, looking for a way out, including measures law enforcement and campaigns socialization in the community. So, the point needs to be improved inter-agency cooperation and joint evaluation carried out periodically or sustainable what has been achieved and what problems still exist like cyclist program, how to minimize car and motorcycle use, plan of plant program or reforestation program, tobacco restriction, etc by multi department and multidisciplina ry approach especially in developing country like me. Thank you.

Nowadays no special way as track for cyclist in a lot of city in developing country. By WHO initiate, perhaps Government should prepare special way for cyclist and pedestrian in a lot of city in developing country as a policy on master plan of city to assure safety of cyclist and pedestrian. Thank you.
