Santa Clara County Fair, Outdoor Attractions, 8/5/16 by Ronald Horii
For the first time in a few years, I went to see the Santa Clara County Fair. It only runs for 4 days. While it's been around for 72 years, it's had its up and downs. At one time, it was limited to being a youth livestock exhibition. Now it's gone back to being a traditional county fair, with a mixture of youth agricultural projects, rides, entertainment, games, and carnival food. Here are pictures of the outdoor attractions. I'll post the indoor exhibits separately. The fair runs for 2 more days this weekend.
Here's the official website for the fair:

It's soooooooo small this year. I miss all the livestock barns (I know they've been gone a while.) And the huge displays of home goods--quilts hanging from every wall. Lots of vendors in the main buildings with interesting stuffs. Nope, none of that, just a shadow of the old fair. At least the carnival & food stands were huge AND fun to photograph.
