V-O-Cal Trail Day, Almaden Quicksilver, 5/21/16 by Ronald Horii
V-O-Cal, Volunteers for Outdoor California, held a trail-building event from 5/20-22/16 at Almaden Quicksilver County Park. On Friday 5/20, some of the crews arrived and set up camp in the Mockingbird Hill Lane staging area of the park. On Saturday morning 5/21, the crews gathered, signed in, had breakfast, go instructions, did stretching exercises, broke up into teams, and headed out on the New Almaden Trail. The main part of the group worked on removing an old bridge on the New Almaden Trail, a little past the Buena Vista Trail. They built a rock crossing to replace the bridge, and re-routed the trail to it. The rest of the group continued on to widen the trail. — at Almaden Quicksilver County Park.
