Anza Hike, Almaden Quicksilver, 3/26/16 by Ronald Horii
On 3/26/16, National Park Service Ranger Daniel Sanchez came to Almaden Quicksilver to lead a hike and talk about the Anza Expedition, as part of the NPS's 100th anniversary. In 1775-76, Capt. Juan Bautista de Anza led a 240-person party from Mexico to establish a settlement in San Francisco. He passed through Santa Clara County on his way to San Francisco. Daniel described that journey as we hiked up the Mine Hill Trail and down the English Camp Trail.
