Rancho Canada del Oro Rainy Day Hike, 4/10/16 by Ronald Horii
Only a few days after temperatures in the Bay Area hit 90 degrees mid-week, we had a rainy weekend. There was a wildflower hike scheduled at Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve. 7 hardy souls showed up to brave the light rain and mud to hike the preserve. The trails were too wet and slippery to hike the whole trail loop, so we hiked partway up the Mayfair Ranch Trail and the start of the Longwall Canyon Trail. While many were closed or bent over to protect themselves from the rain, we did see lots of wildflowers. The nice thing about the rain is that it will keep the hills green a little longer. Here are pictures from past hikes in Rancho Canada del Oro and other Open Space Authority preserves: http://www.rhorii.com/#OSA — at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve.
