Big Canyon Park San Carlos, 3/18/16 by Ronald Horii
I discovered an interesting neighborhood park in San Carlos. I was in the neighborhood and saw this big green patch on the map called Big Canyon Park. I stopped by to check it out. The map didn't show the entrance, but I headed up Crestview Drive and saw a small sign for the park entrance. The park covers 16 acres, on steep hillsides squeezed in-between expensive homes. There's a trail network winding up, down, and along the steep canyons, running through dense forests and open chaparral and grass-covered areas. Here's the city's brochure on the park: https://www.cityofsancarlos.org/home/showdocument?id=1361. Next to Big Canyon Park is Eaton Park, which is even bigger. Here's more information about both parks: https://bahiker.com/southbayhikes/ebcp.html — at Big Canyon Park. (near Big Canyon Park)
