Uvas Canyon Waterfalls, 3/15/16 by Ronald Horii
This has been a wet year at times. All this rain has been good for waterfalls. The best place to see waterfalls in Santa Clara County is Uvas Canyon County Park. I went there on 1/27/16 and took these pictures: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1040171279339727.1073741998.100000405933924&type=1&l=adac9254a8
The waterfalls were flowing pretty good then. After the recent rains, I was curious to see if how well they were flowing. I went there on 3/15/16. They had an even stronger flow. As usual, I brought my tripod to take time exposures of the water. This time I brought something extra: an iPhone with a remote-control camera app. I could control my camera remotely from up to about 100 feet away, so I could take long-distance selfies. I'm not really into selfies, but I thought I'd try it as an experiment. It was a sunny day, which made for tricky exposures in the deep shade of the canyon. I had to play with the exposures a lot. I used HDR techniques in a few cases. Here's what I got. Compare these to the pictures from 1/27.

Here's the park website, with links to the maps: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/UvasCanyon.aspx

Here are HDR pictures that I did at Uvas Canyon 6 years ago, when I was playing around with HDR techniques to make dreamy landscapes: http://www.rhorii.com/Photo/HDR-Uvas.html — at Uvas Canyon County Park. (near Uvas Canyon County Park)

I see the water has calmed down a bit from when I was there on Sunday, but looks like there is still a lot of water flowing.
