The Trail to the Super Bowl (the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail) by Ronald Horii
On 1/31/16, I rode my bike on the class 1 (off the road) San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail from Cabrillo Ave. to the Bay Trail. The trail runs right next to Levi's Stadium. Today was the last day the trail would be open before the Super Bowl. I got views of the stadium and the preparations for the Super Bowl. The trail follows along the banks of a straight flood channel. There was a lot of engineering involved to put the trail in on creek banks that were not originally designed to accommodate a recreational trail. They did a good job, particularly with the many undercrossings.
